Fr. Edward Horning, founding pastor of St. Hilary Parish, had a vision. He saw that the church and school were thriving and growing. He dreamed that they would remain this way for generations. He knew it would take more than hope.
Fr. Horning found a way to set money aside. In 1976, the St. Hilary Parish Foundation was established to ensure the proper investment and disbursement of these funds. Since then, the Foundation has made numerous grants to assist with church and school needs, helping parishioners keep their faith alive and community strong through good times and bad.
In 1983, the Foundation made its first gift to the parish - $30,000 to replace and repair the church roof and parking lot. Over the past 32 years, the Foundation has given more than $1.7 million to the church and school for improvements ranging from building renovations to equipment, made contributions to major capital campaigns, and provided scholarships and tuition assistance to students and families.
